Elisabetta Formento
Elisabetta Formento began her dance studies at Accademia di Danza e Spettacolo in Ivrea and Oxana Kichenko Ballet in Turin. In 2011, she was awarded a scholarship to study at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow, Russia, where she graduated with the Diploma of Merit in 2015 under the tutelage of teachers Irina Pyatkina, Ilya Ryzhakov, and Svetlana Ivanova.
Formento has performed with the Estonian National Ballet, where she danced roles such as Myrtha in Giselle, Gamzatti in Bayadere, and Lead Woman in Bolero. She then joined the Polish National Ballet as a soloist, where she performed as Mary Vetsera in Kenneth MacMillan’s Mayerling, Clara/Sugarplum Fairy in Wayne Eagling’s The Nutcracker, and Lucy Westnera in Kryzstof Pastor’s Dracula.
Formento has also danced in gala performances throughout Europe, showcasing her skills in popular pieces like Black Swan Pdd, Don Quixote Pdd, and Giselle Pdd, to name a few.
In September 2022, Formento will join the Compañia Nacional de Danza as a soloist, under the artistic direction of Joaquín De Luz. There, she will perform Giselle in Giselle and principal roles in “where you are, I feel” by Valentino Zucchetti, Love Fear Loss by Ricardo Amarante, Kubler Ross by Andrea Schermonly.
Additionally, Formento has appeared as a guest soloist, dancing iconic roles such as Odette/Odile in Swan Lake and Clara in The Nutcracker.
